Our Mission

Youth Ministry

To develop an effective, dynamic, and growing army of youth effectually living the Christian life as they walk with their Lord Jesus Christ.

Primary Objective of the youth department

• To instruct and train the youth to understand and implement the Word of God in their lives, especially as it relates to: Worship, Service, Outreach, Christian Growth, and Family.
• To actively integrate the youth into all activities of church life here at JCC-Agape. Envisioning and equipping them to lead and to serve here, now, and in the future.
• To seek out lay leadership and effectively train them to work with the youth and others as part of a ministry team.
• To help keep our church’s intentional-intergenerational vision foremost in everyone’s heart and ministry.
• To develop an older-youth component. This would be an outreach, traveling, ministry team made up of mostly older, well-disciplined committed youth.
• To work closely with all other members of the church Leaders, effectively uniting with and complementing other church ministries.
• To assist families, especially families with teenagers, to assimilate into church ministry as a family, learning to minister together as a family.
• To guide the church youth in cultivating a burden for -Christians and designing and implementing effective outreach and assimilation strategies.

YOUTH

This department provides opportunity for youth:

    • To get to know and establish a positive relationship with each young person in the congregation.
    • To provide a regularly youth service that is worshipful, fun, relevant, and effective in instructing, training, nurturing, and launching youth into Christian service.
    • To attend leadership meetings endeavoring to work closely with other leaders to coordinate the youth activities, calendar and vision with all other areas of church life.
    • To undergo mentoring and coaching.
    • To make sure that the females in the youth group have effective, caring role-models and easy access to female counselors when appropriate.
    • To coordinate youth-oriented retreats, outings and camp activities.
    • To share their gifts and talents in all areas of the church ministry as time permits.
    • To set a good example in the areas of relationships, commitment, follow-through and responsible living.
    • In a very permissive era, help youth to establish Biblical guidelines for appropriate behavior, especially as it regards the opposite sex.
    • To model high standards in their own personal, family and devotional life. Maintaining a good example in their relationships with others, studying, praying, tithing, and such. • To pray for their parents, guardians and involve their parents in their activities
